Cameron did the right for one reason and one reason only.
The Euro zone (not the EU itself) wanted to finance itself by taxing the UK financial industry!!! We are not in the Euro zone. It is inconceivable that this should be allowed to happen.
The UK needs to tax the UK financial industry for the benefit of the UK!!
The Euro zone is a major disaster waiting to happen. It is a stupid idea for so many diverse nations to have a single currency – it just cannot work anywhere except in the imaginations of politicians who want to benefit from the power (and money) that such an organisation would give them!
I find it sad that the Libdems have lost the plot so completely that they would give away the inevitable tax on the UK financial industry and not be bothered about the need for this money to help the UK economy!!!
The Lib Dems have a strange idea of what is in the best interests of the United Kingdom!

Trade Unionists are selfish and greedy people.
The trade unions own the Labour party! It was Labour that destroyed the UK economy and put us all in a mess.
Yet the trade unions members (those that are taking industrial action) are too selfish to suffer the consequences of Labour’s incompetence in government!
They want more money and bigger pensions when the country cannot afford to pay them.
Perhaps we should link people’s pensions and pay to the way that they vote at a general election!!

People will have more money available by reducing the burden of debt. But I agree that it won’t be in the short term.
It all very well needing people to spend more to help the economy, but the banks will just keep increasing interest rates to benefit themselves!
There still won’t be much money for households to spend more!!
The best thing for the economy is for the banks to reduce interest rates! But there is no way that they will because they only care about their profits! Banks have become parasites on the consumers of our nation!

I never understood why the Labour government took 15,000 trained and qualified police off the work of policing our streets and giving them desk jobs!
They seemed to then employ more people to become police and spent loads of our money training them.
Surely it would seem to have been more sensible to have left the trained police doing their job, which is policing, and trained the newcomers to be admin staff.
It would certainly have been cheaper!!!
But I never understood why Labour did much of what they did. I thought that their policies were mostly rubbish then, and since Labour were chucked out of power it has become obvious that I was right!!
I would guess that this is why Cameron can claim to be able to reduce police staffing and still have more police on the streets (and hopefully fewer trained police in admin roles!).

It is a shame really. I have never been a libdem supporter but they are currently taking the blame for the awful government that we have had for the last 14 years.
Labour have done so much damage to the UK economy, the consequences will be with us for many years.
The Labour party, with the support of the media, are not being punished by the electorate for the almost bankrupted UK economy and the massive debt levels that they left us all with.
Instead, Labour have managed to deflect the anger that the UK people feel about the financial difficulties we are in against the Libdems.
Yes, they are a soft target and did not really stand up against the efforts of Labour to damage them.
But Labour are the party that should be taking the electorates wrath.

Much better budget than I expected, considering the mess that Labour left for the Conservatives to sort out!
Milliband just doesn’t cut it as the opposition leader.
The government is very constrained on what it can do simply because of the huge amount of debt left by the last Labour government.
Yet Milliband did not seem to able to respond with any real criticism – he seemed to be completely out of his depth!
No wonder really! I have just heard the UK debt level is so high that the debt repayment each hour of each day is enough to build a primary school!

I have just seen Labour’s Alan Johnson on tv going on about how the Conservatives shouldn’t be raising extra taxes. I find it so cynical that he can criticise the Conservatives when they are trying to fix the complete mess that Labour made of the economy in their 13 years of power!
If the Labour cabinet know so much about solving the UK’s economic problems then why did they allow such a mess to occur in the first place?
Labour inherited a sound economy from the Conservatives. It was referred to at the time as a ‘golden inheritance’. They even continued with the Conservative policies for a few years!
Then they started spending and incurring more and more debt for us all to pay off!
The best thing that the Labour shadow ministers can do for the country is to stay very quiet while they read and understand basic books on economics!!!

Just a timely reminder that we are in such a financial mess affecting so many people BECAUSE the governments of Brown and Blair failed so spectacularly in their stewardship of the UK economy.
The overspending started with blair! Labour started their period in government with the ‘Golden Inheritance’ from the previous Conservative government.
We had a few years of a stable, profitable economy. Then Blair and Brown started spending the money.
Then the debt started to increase. Blair even introduced the Private Finance Initiate (PFI) which allowed them to build UK debt levels but keep the amounts secret, they weren’t counted as UK debt. Other debt figures e.g. British Rail debt, was also excluded for the total UK debt.
Yet Labour still continued to borrow and spend!!
People are complaining about having the cuts impacting them, their work and our society.
They should be complaining, but their anger should be targeted against Brown, Blair and Labour!!
These are the ones who have caused the mess that the UK economy is in.
Of course the world financial situation has been bad.
But the UK is so weak financially that it is costing us all cuts in jobs, money, services etc. to get the UK economy back on a stable footing.

Every time I hear Labour shadow ministers complaining about the extent of the cuts, I want to remind them loudly that there wouldn’t have been a problem if they hadn’t proved to be so useless when they were in power!
People don’t have to be clever to spend money, it is managing money properly that needs competent people.

Of course all those people complaining vociferously to the media about cuts in the armed services would be happier if the government simply increased taxes to pay for all the military forces that they wanted!
Labour sold us out to Europe. One result of that betrayal is that we now don’t need the level of military forces that we used to require when we were an independent nation.
I presume that those complainers who favoured being ruled by Europe did not understand these resulting consequences to our military!
I don’t think that we need to maintain the same level of British troops in Germany. They are supposed to be our allies now and, more importantly, are also part of the European Union.
