Milliband – Credible Labour party leader

Posted by michael on September 24, 2011

It would have been a lot better for us all if the last Labour government, which Milliband was a member of, had shown competence and ability in managing the UK economy!!!!

But they didn’t and we are all in a very difficult mess now, which can only become worse as time goes on!

Milliband has made the credibility of his leadership of the Labour party worse by bringing in many of the last failed government as shadow ministers.

Who can believe that they could succeed in the future when they have such a track record of failure already!

The trade unions and Labour.

Posted by michael on September 13, 2011

It looks like Milliband is finally acknowledging the tremendous done to the UK economy by the 14 years of the last Labour government!

Milliband is right. We cannot afford pay increases and new hospitals and schools etc.

I think that it is shameful that the trade unions are calling for strikes and militant activity in order to get more money for themselves! It was Labour, who are OWNED by the trade unions, who messed up our country.

If the trade unions want fairness then everyone who voted Labour in the last election should have a pay cut!!!

Police officers being given desk jobs!!!

Posted by michael on September 5, 2011

I never understood why the Labour government took 15,000 trained and qualified police off the work of policing our streets and giving them desk jobs!

They seemed to then employ more people to become police and spent loads of our money training them.

Surely it would seem to have been more sensible to have left the trained police doing their job, which is policing, and trained the newcomers to be admin staff.

It would certainly have been cheaper!!!

But I never understood why Labour did much of what they did. I thought that their policies were mostly rubbish then, and since Labour were chucked out of power it has become obvious that I was right!!

I would guess that this is why Cameron can claim to be able to reduce police staffing and still have more police on the streets (and hopefully fewer trained police in admin roles!).

the Libdems under attack on all sides

Posted by michael on April 22, 2011

The Libdems will get their missing supporters back – as long as they stick to putting the UK economy FIRST before their own interests as a party.

They are taking most of the flak from the socialists and the press who see them as a soft target, and a possible way to break the coalition.
Most of the attacks are at a personal level, which means that the opposition to the coalition have no genuine arguments to make!

The socialists still don’t understand that they are the ones who almost bankrupted the UK economy through inept policies and a lemming-like compulsion to borrow, borrow and borrow money until the whole country was in deep doodoo!

We are all suffering from the consequences of the last Labour government, and this will impact our lives for quite a few years to come.
Thanks Gordon!

Labour – incompetent with money?

Posted by michael on March 25, 2011

Did the last Labour government actually understand anything about the value of money, savings and debt?
Brown was happy to put extra taxes on everyones pension payments even though it would have a detrimental affect on our pensions and lives when we retired.
Labour was very happy to borrow as much money as they could, without any apparent regard to the fact that these debts would have to be paid back at some stage in the future.
Did Brown understand that repaying this debt was to come out of our, the peoples, pockets and the whole process would mean increased taxes that would have serious consequences on peoples jobs and lives?
If Labour did not understand what they were doing then it is a plain case of incompetence.
If they did understand what they were doing then they were choosing to bring financial pain and suffering on us all when it became time to repay the debts.

It is cynical of Labour to complain about the UK economy

Posted by michael on March 10, 2011

I expect the Labour unions to make a big fuss about the state of the public service pensions. They will of course conveniently forget that the entire pension problem is the consequence of the last Labour government almost bankrupting the UK economy! And we must not forget that Brown specifically targetted pension payments for special taxation which in itself had a detrimental effect on the value of peoples pensions!
It is cynical for Labour for to forget these facts, but cynical seems to be what Labour want to be!
Please don’t forget that when the UK economy recovers and becomes strong again (as it did under the last Conservative government) then there is scope for the government to increase pension values and even to reduce student fees debt.
But at this time of financial difficulty (thanks Gordon!) then they must act responsibly for the good of the country.

Labour complaining about extra taxes

Posted by michael on January 4, 2011

I have just seen Labour’s Alan Johnson on tv going on about how the Conservatives shouldn’t be raising extra taxes. I find it so cynical that he can criticise the Conservatives when they are trying to fix the complete mess that Labour made of the economy in their 13 years of power!
If the Labour cabinet know so much about solving the UK’s economic problems then why did they allow such a mess to occur in the first place?
Labour inherited a sound economy from the Conservatives. It was referred to at the time as a ‘golden inheritance’. They even continued with the Conservative policies for a few years!
Then they started spending and incurring more and more debt for us all to pay off!
The best thing that the Labour shadow ministers can do for the country is to stay very quiet while they read and understand basic books on economics!!!

Lib Dems never wanted Coalition with Labour

Posted by michael on November 14, 2010

Sensible Libdems!
Who would want a coalition with a government that only had one policy, that was to spend as much money as possible and borrowing as much as possible in order to spend more and more!
The profligate wastrels in New Labour would have simply shared the blame for almost bankrupting the UK with their ‘partners’.

Riot during student protest

Posted by michael on November 12, 2010

So what do those Labour MPs think now they know that the students were not in the main the ones committing the violence, that it was in fact a bunch of violent extremists whose only interests are violence and thuggery.
Judging from their twittering some of these MPs enjoyed seeing Millbank House being smashed up.
Still, those thugs have a long way to go before they damage the UK more than the labour party did in its inability to manage the UK economy in a prudent manner in their last spell in power!

Just a timely reminder that we are in such a financial mess affecting so many people BECAUSE the governments of Brown and Blair failed so spectacularly in their stewardship of the UK economy.
The overspending started with blair! Labour started their period in government with the ‘Golden Inheritance’ from the previous Conservative government.
We had a few years of a stable, profitable economy. Then Blair and Brown started spending the money.
Then the debt started to increase. Blair even introduced the Private Finance Initiate (PFI) which allowed them to build UK debt levels but keep the amounts secret, they weren’t counted as UK debt. Other debt figures e.g. British Rail debt, was also excluded for the total UK debt.
Yet Labour still continued to borrow and spend!!
People are complaining about having the cuts impacting them, their work and our society.
They should be complaining, but their anger should be targeted against Brown, Blair and Labour!!
These are the ones who have caused the mess that the UK economy is in.
Of course the world financial situation has been bad.
But the UK is so weak financially that it is costing us all cuts in jobs, money, services etc. to get the UK economy back on a stable footing.
