Boom towns transformed into benefit blackspots

Posted by michael on May 3, 2010

What an economic mess has been made by this Labour government!

It does not surprise me that white-collar ‘boom’ towns in the South have been turned to benefit blackspots under this lousy government.

These towns are truly representative of the way that Brown and Labour have managed the UK economy. They have brought us to the brink of bankruptcy!

It may even be too late to avoid the IMF taking over the running the UK economy.

It looks like Labour are going to be punished by the electorate for their appalling management of the UK.  I don’t want people blaming all politicians in general for the mess that Brown, Blair and Labour have made of the UK! The fault is with Labour and it is Labour that should be punished!

Brown – I paid a big price for my ‘bigot’ comment

Posted by michael on May 1, 2010

No Mr. Brown, You have not paid a big price for your ‘bigot’ comment.

You have paid a big price for taking the ‘Golden Inheritance’ from the last Conservative government and turning this pot of gold into the most massive debt that all of us in the UK will now have to suffer for years to pay back.

I do not understand how you even think that you have a chance of getting re-elected when you have caused such an economic meltdown of the UK finances.

You are almost the last person in the world who can claim to be capable of sorting out the mess which you caused in the first place!!

We have huge debt levels as a result of your financial policies. Our debt risks becoming junk which will cost us all even more of our money.

And your campaign for the election is based on increasing our debts even more because you don’t feel that you should start to reduce UK debts for the next year. Which will cost us all more money and increased debt.

Brown is STILL trying to blame the woman!

Posted by michael on April 30, 2010

New Labour is STILL trying to blame the woman!!!

This is appalling behaviour by a prime minister!  Can he not simply own up to making a mistake?

Does Brown have to go to extreme lengths to prove that he was right after all, even though it was all his fault?

How far will Brown go to blame the woman (and this was one of his lifelong supporters!) for his own arrogant and intemperate behaviour?

It all goes to show how unfit for power Brown is, let alone the Labour party  itself – an organisation from the history of the UK with absolutely no relevance in today’s modern society!

Brown’s claims to have created many jobs in the UK

Posted by michael on April 28, 2010

I still fail to understand how Brown can claim the credit for creating many thousands of new jobs and allowing nearly all of them to be taken by people from outside the UK.

Doesn’t Brown understand that UK citizens need those jobs. If non UK citizens take the jobs then most of the earnings go back to their home country to benefit their government!

This was effectively an investment in a foreign government,  not a policy to help the UK.

Is this election about more than looking good on tv?

Posted by michael on April 28, 2010

Labour know the state of the UK economy. They have all the figures available BUT they are not releasing them to the public.

I can only think of one reason for them to do this and that is because the UK is in such a bad financial mess, obviously much worse than we can imagine!!

Otherwise there would be no need to conceal the details of the UK economy from us.

This is the first election I can remember when people do not seem to be bothered about the economic mess that the government of the day has left the UK in! They seem far more concerned about how well the candidates come over on TV!

I find this amazing. The next government could be in power for five years. What they do will effect people’s lives. Yet this election could be about nothing more than looking good on tv.

How dumbed down has the UK become in the last fourteen years?

LibDems want the Health Service to be a social insurance system

Posted by michael on April 27, 2010

So the LibDems want to change our Health service?

It looks like they want to break up the tax-funded Health Service and replace it with a social insurance system!!

I believe that means that those who can afford to pay get a better treatment.

So will there be different levels of service? Those with the least insurance have limited treatment,  or at least not as good treatment, as those who can afford more.

The French healthcare system is funded by the working population.

Employees pay  20% of their gross salary, the self-employed pay more, all deducted at source.

Fancy being forced to pay 20% of your gross salary??

Brown wants us to concentrate on policy!

Posted by michael on April 26, 2010

So Gordon Brown wants us to concentrate on policy does he?

Does Brown have any policies? All he does at the moment is to tell us to ignore the complete mess of the UK economy and to vote for him because he can fix it.

This is not a strong argument!

If Brown and New Labour could fix the financial problems then why are they not doing this now!

Brown and New Labour  caused the credit crunch and all the resulting financial mess.

Brown and New Labour are good at making financial messes. I do not believe for a moment that they are capable of fixing the problems that they have caused!

Brown ‘must have known’ about fears and smears election leaflets

Posted by michael on April 24, 2010

Of course Brown knew about this shameful manipulation of the elderly and the vulnerable by Labour campaigning.

When Cameron challenged him on TV, Brown simply did not deny it. His words were carefully chosen to give the impression of denial but he did not answer well enough.

Brown simply did not deny knowing about this smear campaign. He could have said many things such as ‘I did not know about this’, ‘I am not aware of this’ etc.

Instead Brown said ‘I did not authorise it‘.  In anybodies language that was an admission that he knew what was going on.

UK borrowed £163.4 billion in last financial year

Posted by michael on April 23, 2010

UK public borrowing is at record levels.

The UK government borrowed £163.4 billion in the financial year ending in March.

Tax receipts have fallen significantly. Too many people are out of work or earning minimum wages that do not attract tax. The Labour government is committed to paying huge public spending bills.

The nation’s borrowing almost doubled from the £96.5 billion cost last year.

Our borrowing is 11.5 per cent of national output (according to the Office for National Statistics).

This should give people an idea of the massive task ahead of us in clearing these debts. Each man, woman and child in the UK now has to find £15,000 each to clear this debt. (Obviously we are not each going to be asked to find £15000! – it is an average).

But, on average, we will pay this money through increased taxes, increased cost of living, new taxes, new and increased charges for everything, possibly 21% VAT, probably more parking regulations and higher fines across the board.

The government will have to get £15000 from each of us on average by hook or by crook.

This is what Brown and New Labour call success! It is what I call failure! How dare Brown adopt a financial policy which is going to hurt so many people over many years. Our government is meant to look after us , not milk us for everything we have got!

UK 0.2% growth in last three months

Posted by michael on April 23, 2010

0.2% growth in last three months.

How disappointing! This is such a small increase that it effectively represents no growth. It could easily be revised into a loss or, if we are lucky, it could be revised upwards.

Until we see the revised figures then the growth figure for the first three months of 2010 is effectively zero.

Brown expected big things from these figures. Recovery is under way he has been saying. Clearly he has  been WRONG!!!!

These growth figures do not represent an economy where recovery is under way.
