Here we have two hypocrites who supported the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan but now say that it was a mistake!!!
I never heard Milliband saying that the invasion was wrong once he had become an MP. I never head Balls say publicly that Blair was wrong to go to war.
As a member of the cabinet Balls agreed 100% with Blair to invade Iraq.
Did I hear either of these people say that the invasion of Afghanistan was wrong? How many other Blair and Brown policies that so many people in the UK objected to, will now be disowned by these two ex-ministers? And if Labour ever win another election, will all these failed policies be resurrected?
Balls and Milliband must have known that the UK debt was so high that the country could end up needing the IMF to rescue it?
They must have understood that the people of the UK were going to have huge tax rises and massive cuts in services because of the Labour governments policies. Did they stand up for the people then?
This seems to be a case of ‘hypocricy rules’!!
This Labour leadership election with failed ex-cabinet ministers trying to become the party leader is just a bad joke. No one in the UK will trust these people again. If Labour want success then dump these losers and get some real, genuine people as Labour MPs!

It is my view that none of the ministers from the last failed Labour government are fit to be the leader of the Labour party!
They are all responsible for being part of what has probably been the worst Labour government of modern times.
Brown and Darling will take more of the blame and responsibility by virtue of their positions in the government.
But all the senior ministers have been part of a government which has almost bankrupted the UK, taken us to unnecessary wars and brought our economy to its knees.
What short memories they have!!
How can any of these people have any credibility with any financial policies that they may want to promote.
They are all already tainted with a message of financial failure and will carry this message of failure for the rest of their lives!

It has been an interesting pre-election period.
I think that the Gordon Brown and New labour campaigning has been quite shameful and cynical.
The insistence of campaigning by scare tactics intended to worry the vulnerable and the elderly will be how history records the New Labour campaign.
There has been a lot of this negative campaigning from New Labour. Even Gordon Brown has been telling people what the Conservatives are going to do rather than being focused on what New Labour propose!
The Libdems have participated in the campaign much more than normal. There is still the risk that they will be squeezed out by the two main parties, except possibly in marginal seats where tactical voting would seem to be going to take place! It would be good if they replaced New Labour forever as the second party in the UK.
I believe that the UK is in a critical point in its history. The UK is so seriously in debt that we have to get this under control very fast. It is not just the published debt figures. Most of the new schools and hospitals have been built on debt that is accumulated in the Private Finance Initiate (PFI). The PFI debt includes a lot of debt from various sources and is not included in the UK official debt figures.
New Labour took the Golden Inheritance from the last Conservative government and turned it into a recession with the UK so saddled with debts that we will all be paying back the debts for many years to come.
We will all be taxed very heavily to screw more money out of us. We will all have to pay higher prices for everything we buy, including electricity and gas!
The UK is at risk of going the same way as Greece, with our debt getting junk status.
New Labour, that mostly means Gordon Brown, has caused the banking crisis (Brown took away controls on the banks which led to the credit crunch and recession) and has brought the UK to the brink of bankruptcy.
I haven’t even mentioned the wars in Iran and Afghanistan which we should not be involved in!
Labour have failed us, they do not deserve to be in power again.

The end for Brown is nigh once his own supporters are saying things about Brown such as ‘he is the worst Prime Minister the UK has had’.
I can see where these people are coming from!
New Labour, that is Gordon Brown and Tony Blair, came into power taking or themselves what is called ‘the Golden Inheritance’ of the previous Conservative government.
Whatever Labour supporters say about their view on the Conservative party, the ‘Golden Inheritance’ is fact!!
So what has Gordon Brown , and one cannot exclude Tony Blair in this criticism, done with such an inheritance and such a strong economy over the last 14 years?
The answer is clear and very damning to the reputations of both Brown and Blair as well bringing the Labour party into disrepute.
The answer is that they turned a booming economy and a Golden Inheritance into the biggest debt that the UK has ever had (possibly even including the war years).
Our debt levels are so high that the UK risks the same financial treatment as Greece! Every person in the UK is now going to have to pay for years to come increased taxes and higher prices.
When one looks at the state of the economy when Brown came into power, and the complete mess that he has made of the UK economy, then it is a no brainer that he really is the worst prime minister the UK has ever had.
He hasn’t had to deal with any real crisis except the ones he caused, such as the banking crisis and the credit crunch. His answer to any problems is to simply spend more of our money.
Brown wanted to pay MPs more money without raising their salaries, so he changed the rules for MPs expenses allowing MPs to claim for so much more and, the critical point, having all these extra expenses approved by the officials running the system.
Claiming that our soldiers had ‘all the equipment’ they needed when the snatch land rover was clearly vulnerable to roadside bombs was either not understanding what was going on or the wrong attitude towards the safety of our soldiers!
Think back to all the failures of computer systems implemented by this government. They might have worked eventually but almost all of them failed when first introduced.
What was good economic management in taxing people’s pensions as Brown personally introduced? Reducing pensions reduces quality of life for retired people. It also means many people will have to work for longer. What was the point of doing this? We do not have enough jobs for everyone as it is!!
The NHS receives so much money that it really has no reason not to be an excellent service! But what about the care of the elderly and the long-term sick? Do these aspects of the NHS work well? I suggest not. Just read how the elderly and those with dementia etc are treated.
I suggest that Brown really does deserve the title of ‘worst prime minister’ in modern times.

No Mr. Brown, You have not paid a big price for your ‘bigot’ comment.
You have paid a big price for taking the ‘Golden Inheritance’ from the last Conservative government and turning this pot of gold into the most massive debt that all of us in the UK will now have to suffer for years to pay back.
I do not understand how you even think that you have a chance of getting re-elected when you have caused such an economic meltdown of the UK finances.
You are almost the last person in the world who can claim to be capable of sorting out the mess which you caused in the first place!!
We have huge debt levels as a result of your financial policies. Our debt risks becoming junk which will cost us all even more of our money.
And your campaign for the election is based on increasing our debts even more because you don’t feel that you should start to reduce UK debts for the next year. Which will cost us all more money and increased debt.

It is being said that Blair has returned to help Gordon out.
The man who took us into several wars on very dubious, if not misleading, grounds, and we are still in Afghanistan taking causalities.
So how will Blair help Brown? He is just visiting, I wouldn’t have thought that Blair was going to give up all that money he was earning! He might give encouragement to a few wavering Labour supporters, but nothing has changed regarding the total mess that Brown, and Blair and Labour have made of the UK economy whilst in power.
Do we believe Tony Blair now when he tells us stuff? I don’t. Not since he told us that Iraq could bomb us in 40 minutes!
Blair and Brown – the team that removed the controls over the banks and allowed them to take the risks that led to the credit crunch and the bank failures.
All in all, the presence of Blair will remind us of so much negative stuff about Labour being in power and wars and debt and the near collapse of the UK economy, etc., that most people will not vote for Gordon!

The polls are moving in the right direction for Cameron. Still time to get a majority over Labour.
People must be beginning to recognise that Brown and New Labour have made such a mess of the UK economy that it would be foolish to expect them to able to fix the problems that have cause.
After all, the only thing that Brown and New Labour have proved so far is that they can take the Golden Inheritance from the last Conservative government and turn it into the biggest financial mess the UK has had!!
And Gordon and the cabinet did this all on their own, without the help of anyone one else!

Brown is the man in charge of MPs expenses. What a mess he has made of it!
Now he wants to change the way parliament works in order to fix the problems he has caused.
When will that man learn that he was not competent enough to run the MPs expenses (judging from the mess that resulted) and that he is not the man to fix the problems he has caused.
Brown has already removed most of our democratic processes by selling us out to the EU without a vote!
Changing what remains for us to influence within our democracy is not something I would trust Brown to manage properly.

At last we have the opportunity to express our views on the way that the UK has been governed for the last 11 years.
In that time our government took the UK to an illegal war in Iraq, and subsequently more to war in Afghanistan. As a result of Blair and Brown the UK is now in constant risk of terrorist attacks on the ordinary people.
New Labour took the Golden Inheritance of the last Conservative government and turned it into the biggest debt the UK has ever had.
People have lost their pensions because of the extra taxes that brown has imposed on pension payments. Many of these people will not be able to afford to retire!
There has been many new schools and hospitals over this time. Most of the expenditure is debt for future generations to pay off! It doesn’t seem to me that it is good governance to spend public money like water and expect future generations to pay the debts!
But the real failure of New Labour is their inability to manage the UK economy. Like children in a sweet shop, there seems to be no thoughts in New Labours minds that restraint is needed when spending public money and borrowing money that the public have to repay!
Our economy is shot to pieces thanks to Gordon. How can so much debt be raised with so little to show for it?
And don’t blame the recession. Brown failed to see it coming. Brown failed to regulate the UK financial industry to stop the meltdown that occurred from the greed of the financial markets. It was Brown’s job to ensure that the financial markets were not allowed to put themselves, and the UK, at risk. He failed!!!
I consider that this New Labour government is the worst government that the UK has had in modern times. They have brought the UK economy close to bankruptcy and the people of the UK will have to pay the resulting debts for many years to come!

Brown had kept himself in the background whilst Blair was taking the UK to war. The impression Brown gave was that he did not like was happening.
But we now know that he fully supported the Iraq invasion and then the military action in Afghanistan.
We have had all the stories from the front line that our troops have not had the proper equipment for the action in Afghanistan, with particular reference to snatch land rovers and helicopters. There is plenty of evidence that they were not equipped properly, if only that the government finally acknowledged the shortfalls and started improving the equipment the soldiers were using.
The UK will now know that Brown was fully in support of the military actions and can share fully in any credit or blame that results from these wars.

It would seem to me that Blair is reviled by the majority of the UK population. Brown should now take his place next to Blair in the annals of history.
