One thing that happens in this world is that hypocrisy is exposed for all to see!

The BP oil leak clearly fits into this category. It does look like BP may have finally got some control over the leak. It is not certain that the cap will seal the leak but it seems to have a good chance of working. It is of course a temporary measure and will allow time for the relief wells to by completed which is the permanent fix.

But the politics is interesting. Obama is getting a bad press on this issue. The American public is rightly very upset with the environmental disaster in their midst.

But I do accuse Obama and the American government and the American press of pure hypocrisy!! Remember the Union Carbide gas leak  in Mumbai in India in 1984?

The release of this gas killed 5,000 people that night and 15,000 more in the following few weeks!

This site has still not been cleared up after 23 years, and there are many children still being born with birth defects every year.

It would be good if this environmental disaster in America reminded the American public and Government that they have not yet dealt with the plight of thousands in Mumbai.

The Americans don’t like what has happened to them! Yet they don’t seem to care what an American company did in Mumbai!  It seems to be a case of ‘Hypocrisy Rules!‘.
