The Conservatives now inherit a total financial mess!

Posted by michael on May 11, 2010

At last, I have waited a long time for this!

One thing for sure, I was not wrong about my not wanting a Labour government over the last 14 years! It was always going to be a disaster, the only difference this time is that it has taken longer than normal for New Labour to collapse!

I have always known that this government would end in a financial crisis with serious consequences for the people, because that is what Labour governments do!

Our debt levels are massive. People will be very shocked when they see the extent of our indebtedness and the consequences that it will have on them.

Brown kept us ignorant of the state of the economy during the election period. Why? If there was any good news about our economy don’t you think that it would be exploited during the election campaign?

This policy prevented the opposition to give us their detailed plans, but it also hid the state of the UK economy during the election!

I trust that the Conservatives will give us a full statement about the economy as soon as possible, because they won’t want to be blamed for the huge debts that Brown has incurred in our name! But it is a balancing act because it could unsettle the financial markets.

Cameron will find it difficult increasing taxes and raising extra money from us all unless people understand that this is needed to repay debts incurred by Brown and New Labour!

Yes we have more new schools and hospitals now. But the country needs to know if we have actually paid for them already or are we going to have to pay for them out of increased taxes for years to come in the future?

Blair and Brown took over running the country 14 years ago.  They started with the ‘Golden Inheritance’ from the last Conservative government.  Until the Credit Crunch (Oh why did Brown change the banking regulations which resulted in us suffering so much from the Credit Crunch!!!) the UK was doing well.

Since the Credit Crunch all this government seem to have done is to increase our indebtedness, even to the extent of giving money away to other countries!

We now seem to have a Conservative government about to take over. They have to deal with a real mess. We will suffer financial pain as a result. But don’t blame the Conservatives who are sorting it out. Blame the Blair, Brown and Darling for their inept management of the economy which has dumped us with all this debt!

the Libdems are behaving as greedy and grasping people

Posted by michael on May 11, 2010

The LibDem leader Clegg and many of the MPs in the party are coming over as greedy and grasping men and women. Who could trust these people if they actually manipulated their way into power?

The people of the UK have recently rebelled about dishonest and manipulative MPs. People now expect honesty and integrity from the political parties. They are not getting this from the actions of Clegg and New Labour!

The Libdems are acting in the ‘old’ way of politics that the people of the UK have rejected. It seems to me that their greed will be their undoing.

We should be concerned about our democracy

Posted by michael on May 10, 2010

It appears that Gordon Brown, our unelected leader, is going to impose a change of our voting system without a referendum. In other words Brown appears to be so desperate to remain in power that he is giving away our civil rights to enforce a change of the electoral system on the people of the UK.

I don’t believe Brown has any real intention to resign because he always qualified the statements about resigning. Brown, an unelected leader himself, is making our democracy look like it came from North Korea or Iran!

Even Labour supporters should be worried about the total disregard of our civil rights. Will the people of the UK be allowed to protest in the streets about the removal of our civil rights?

Brown to resign – maybe!

Posted by michael on May 10, 2010

One thing I have learnt overt he last 14 years is to listen properly to what Gordon Brown and other Labour leaders say!

It sounded like Brown said that he was going to resign, but he qualified the statement every time he said it.

Brown said clearly two things:

1. Brown will stay to sort out the new government

2. He also said that he would stay to sort out the economic mess. Now this alone could take 10 years!!

The next Labour conference is in September I believe. There is no way that the financial mess that the UK is in could be sorted out by then so there is no way the Brown would resign at that time!

Labour don’t seem to like have elected leaders! Do they really believe that none of the potential leaders are good enough to be selected by the UK voters? It is beginning to look like they are either scared of elections or have a total contempt for them!

The UK economy is in a terrible mess. Is Brown desperate to prevent other people from seeing the UK Books? Are they possibly so bad that Brown will do anything he can to stay in power!

A LibDem association with the Conservatives could be exactly what they need

Posted by michael on May 8, 2010

I would like to remind the LibDems that they did really badly during the election.

Where was all that enthusiasm displayed when Clegg did well in the first of the PM debates? It seemed to evaporate when it came to actually voting!

A LibDem association with the Conservatives could be exactly what they need to show that they are responsible and capable to be in government. They will be rewarded for a mature attitude in joining in a partnership with the Conservatives, but they cannot expect those rewards straight away.

The UK needs a stable, mature team to deal with the very serious economic problems dumped on us by an incapable New Labour government. As part of that team Clegg and the Libdems can become ready for government and become serious contenders in the future.

Remember, they did lose badly at the election. They cannot expect everything they want to happen straight away. It would be quite ridiculous, and quite childish, to demand all the rewards before they have proved themselves!

Liberals want electoral reform

Posted by michael on May 8, 2010

Of course the Liberals want electoral reform. They are a small political party without that much support in the UK.

They have a reasonable amount of support but not as much as the two main parties. So why do they want political power which exceeds the size of the party itself?

The political power is in the two larger parties and, strangely enough, there are many, many more citizens of the UK who are members and/or supporters of the two larger parties.

I am concerned that many people are now proclaiming the praises of the LibDems, just because they are comparing the TV performances of three individuals.

An idiot savant could stand up neatly dressed in front of a TV audience and say exactly the right things and come over as a pleasant human being and end up being elected to run the country. Is this what we want? To measure potential prime ministers by their abilities to perform on TV and to select them on that basis?

Gordon Brown – power at any cost!!

Posted by michael on May 8, 2010

Gordon Brown – power at any cost!! He has lost the election but is not man enough to resign.

He must be able to see the damage that New Labour have done to the UK over the last 14 years.

I have no doubt that Brown is the worst leader that the UK has had in modern times.

Brown has a reputation of being ‘strong on the economy’. Where did this come from? Why does anyone believe it?

Brown started power with the Golden Inheritance from the last Conservative government and has turned a strong UK economy into a basket case in 14 years!

The UK economy now has huge debts which are going to take years to pay off. We are all going to heavily taxed in everything we do or buy. We have years of austerity ahead of us. Our economy is being mentioned in the same sentences as Greece (and not as an example of  what a good economy should be).’

Brown is ‘capable of managing our economy’ – no, Brown has proven that he is not able to manage the UK economy. The proof is all around you!!!

UK’s ‘very high’ public debt presents ‘challenge’ to the EU

Posted by michael on May 5, 2010

This is what Gordon Brown has refused to tell people. The perilous state of the UK economy has been ignored by Gordon Brown during this election. Yet it is probably the most important topic of the whole election.

Gordon Brown has hidden the true state of the UK economy from us.

New figures from the European Commission revealed today that the UK budget deficit will outstrip any country in the EU this year – including Greece.

European Commissioner Olli Rehn warned that the UK’s ‘very high’ public debt presents ‘by far the first and foremost challenge’ to the winner of tomorrow’s general election.

We are prime candidates to go the same way as Greece and need to be bailed out by the IMF.

This is why Labour do not deserve to get back into power!!

Nearly time to vote!

Posted by michael on May 5, 2010

It has been an interesting pre-election period.

I think that the Gordon Brown and New labour campaigning has been quite shameful and cynical.

The insistence of campaigning by scare tactics intended to worry the vulnerable and the elderly will be how history records the New Labour campaign.

There has been a lot of this negative campaigning from New Labour. Even Gordon Brown has been telling people what the Conservatives are going to do rather than being focused on what New Labour propose!

The Libdems have participated in the campaign  much more than normal. There is still the risk that they will be squeezed out by the two main parties, except possibly in marginal seats where tactical voting would seem to be going to take place! It would be good if they replaced New Labour forever as the second party in the UK.

I believe that the UK is in a critical point in its history. The UK is so seriously in debt that we have to get this under control very fast. It is not just the published debt figures. Most of the new schools and hospitals have been built on debt that is accumulated in the Private Finance Initiate (PFI). The PFI debt includes a lot of debt from various sources and is not included in the UK official debt figures.

New Labour took the Golden Inheritance from the last Conservative government and turned it into a recession with the UK so saddled with debts that we will all be paying back the debts for many years to come.

We will all be taxed very heavily to screw more money out of us. We will all have to pay higher prices for everything we buy, including electricity and gas!

The UK is at risk of going the same way as Greece, with our debt getting junk status.

New Labour, that mostly means Gordon Brown, has caused the banking crisis (Brown took away controls on the banks which led to the credit crunch and recession) and has brought the UK to the brink of bankruptcy.

I haven’t even mentioned the wars in Iran and Afghanistan which we should not be involved in!

Labour have failed us, they do not deserve to be in power again.

Do we learn from our experiences?

Posted by michael on May 4, 2010

If your doctor messed up an operation on you, would you use them again?

If your accountant messed up your accounts and you subsequently had tax problems, would you use them the next year?

If your child carer did a bad job, would you still use them to care for your children?

New Labour took the Golden Inheritance from the last Conservative Government and turned it into the most massive debt that the UK has ever had.

We will be paying now for many years with increased taxes and higher prices as a result. We will have to work longer before retiring on lower pensions.

What a mess our economy is in.

We have learnt how Labour runs the UK.  It would not be sensible to let them do all this again!!!!
