I never heard Milliband saying that the invasion was wrong once he had become an MP. I never head Balls say publicly that Blair was wrong to go to war.

As a member of the cabinet Balls agreed 100% with Blair to invade Iraq.

Did I hear either of these people say that the invasion of Afghanistan was wrong? How many other Blair and Brown policies that so many people in the UK objected to, will now be disowned by these two ex-ministers? And if Labour ever win another election, will all these failed policies be resurrected?

Balls and Milliband must have known that the UK debt was so high that the country could end up needing the IMF to rescue it?

They must have understood that the people of the UK were going to have huge tax rises and massive cuts in services because of the Labour governments policies. Did they stand up for the people then?

This seems to be a case of ‘hypocricy rules’!!

This Labour leadership election with failed ex-cabinet ministers trying to become the party leader is just a bad joke. No one in the UK will trust these people again. If Labour want success then dump these losers and get some real, genuine people as Labour MPs!

The man who took us into several wars on very dubious, if not misleading, grounds, and we are still in Afghanistan taking causalities.

So how will Blair help Brown? He is just visiting, I wouldn’t have thought that Blair was going to give up all that money he was earning! He might give encouragement to a few wavering Labour supporters, but nothing has changed regarding the total mess that Brown, and Blair and Labour have made of the UK economy whilst in power.

Do we believe Tony Blair now when he tells us stuff? I don’t. Not since he told us that Iraq could bomb us in 40 minutes!

Blair and Brown – the team that removed the controls over the banks and allowed them to take the risks that led to the credit crunch and the bank failures.

All in all, the presence of Blair will remind us of so much negative stuff about Labour being in power and wars and debt and the near collapse of the UK economy, etc., that most people will not vote for Gordon!

Brown had kept himself in the background whilst Blair was taking the UK to war. By doing this Brown gave the impression that he did not like was happening.

But we now know that he fully supported the Iraq invasion and then the military action in Afghanistan.

We have had all the stories from the front line that our troops have not had the proper equipment for the action in Afghanistan, with particular reference to snatch land rovers and helicopters.

It would seem to me that Blair is reviled by the majority of the UK population. Brown should now take his place next to Blair in the annals of history.

They were being misled by Blair, Brown and New Labour but that dues not mean that they were wrong to put the safety of the citizens of the UK as their first priority!

I have a problem with the Lib Dems voting against a war which we were told was necessary for the security and safety of the people of the UK.

If Blair was telling the truth about the need for war then the Lib Dems were not putting the security of the UK as their first priority!

The fact that Blair, Brown and New Labour were misleading us about the importance of war to defend our country, does not detract from the fact that the Liberal Democrats chose not to take steps to protect the UK from being targeted by Iraq.

They have announced new helicopters for Afghanistan, which of course is good. But they won’t be available until 2013!!!

I thought that by then our soldiers had pulled out leaving the ‘well trained’ Afghan soldiers to protect themselves from the Taliban!!

So the helicopters won’t be available until AFTER our soldiers come home – OR does brown know that they are going to be there for many years yet!

Has brown now admitted that when he repeatedly and consistently said that our soldiers had enough equipment and helicopters (remember the NATO troops were sharing helicopters) that he was WRONG!

Yet now brown and his ministers are claiming credit for spending money on ‘supporting’ our troops. It just seems so cynical. Perhaps there is an election due soon!

Blair didn’t join in with the Americans to attack Iraq in order to remove Saddam Hussein and his thug sons!! If that was justifiable then think how many other countries we would need to invade for the same reason!

As far as I am concerned Blair set out to con the British public by scaring them over the weapons of mass destruction! The most cynical step was putting tanks on the streets and at the airports!

We did not have a terrorist problem until Blair and Bush went to war against Iraq. This was a significant point in the history of the world and there are many consequences, mostly bad, that have stemmed directly from the actions of Blair and Bush.

History will not see these two leaders in a positive light.

Gordon Brown is claiming that our troops are fighting in Afghanistan in order to stop the threat of terrorism in the UK.

He is right! But his actions in the first place are the reason why we now have to deal with this threat against us. But the consequences of going to war against any country is that the people of that country will fight back!

What does Gordon Brown think that victory in the war in Afghanistan means. I don’t remember ever hearing him define what he thinks that beating the taliban actually means.

I have heard Brown saying that his intention is to train the Afghan government troops to carry on the war against the taliban themselves. But this is not going to stop the attacks against the UK and UK interests around the world. It simply gets our soldiers out of Afghanistan.

Getting peace for the UK and the USA means that all extremists, mostly Islamic, are prepared to stop bombing us at home and abroad.

It is possible that there is no way of getting peace in the war against terrorism. Brown, Blair and Bush have opened Pandora’s box. We cannot put the lid back on.

I think that the actions of these three leaders have cursed the world for a very long time. They will not go down in history in any other terms!

Gordon Brown and Tony Blair are the reason why we are now under continuous threat of attack!

Gordon Brown cannot justify our attacks on Afghanistan, but he is desperate to avoid getting the blame he deserves from our invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan.

What he has had to say is not that surprising for him, but it really shows how good he is in catching the mood of the people!

Brown said that getting another 50,000 Afghan troops trained by the end of the year would enable them to “take more responsibility for their own affairs”. I don’t know how many they have trained or are in the process of training, but to get that many Afghan soldiers trained in four months would seem to need many more of our soldiers to train them!

I am glad that Brown has announced that new equipment, e.g. more armoured vehicles, will be made available. Two questions:

• When will they be available?
• How armoured are these vehicles?

If they are more heavily armoured than the vehicles currently in use by our soldiers then it will be an admission that the current vehicles do not have sufficient armour!
