If your doctor messed up an operation on you, would you use them again?
If your accountant messed up your accounts and you subsequently had tax problems, would you use them the next year?
If your child carer did a bad job, would you still use them to care for your children?
New Labour took the Golden Inheritance from the last Conservative Government and turned it into the most massive debt that the UK has ever had.
We will be paying now for many years with increased taxes and higher prices as a result. We will have to work longer before retiring on lower pensions.
What a mess our economy is in.
We have learnt how Labour runs the UK. It would not be sensible to let them do all this again!!!!

The end for Brown is nigh once his own supporters are saying things about Brown such as ‘he is the worst Prime Minister the UK has had’.
I can see where these people are coming from!
New Labour, that is Gordon Brown and Tony Blair, came into power taking or themselves what is called ‘the Golden Inheritance’ of the previous Conservative government.
Whatever Labour supporters say about their view on the Conservative party, the ‘Golden Inheritance’ is fact!!
So what has Gordon Brown , and one cannot exclude Tony Blair in this criticism, done with such an inheritance and such a strong economy over the last 14 years?
The answer is clear and very damning to the reputations of both Brown and Blair as well bringing the Labour party into disrepute.
The answer is that they turned a booming economy and a Golden Inheritance into the biggest debt that the UK has ever had (possibly even including the war years).
Our debt levels are so high that the UK risks the same financial treatment as Greece! Every person in the UK is now going to have to pay for years to come increased taxes and higher prices.
When one looks at the state of the economy when Brown came into power, and the complete mess that he has made of the UK economy, then it is a no brainer that he really is the worst prime minister the UK has ever had.
He hasn’t had to deal with any real crisis except the ones he caused, such as the banking crisis and the credit crunch. His answer to any problems is to simply spend more of our money.
Brown wanted to pay MPs more money without raising their salaries, so he changed the rules for MPs expenses allowing MPs to claim for so much more and, the critical point, having all these extra expenses approved by the officials running the system.
Claiming that our soldiers had ‘all the equipment’ they needed when the snatch land rover was clearly vulnerable to roadside bombs was either not understanding what was going on or the wrong attitude towards the safety of our soldiers!
Think back to all the failures of computer systems implemented by this government. They might have worked eventually but almost all of them failed when first introduced.
What was good economic management in taxing people’s pensions as Brown personally introduced? Reducing pensions reduces quality of life for retired people. It also means many people will have to work for longer. What was the point of doing this? We do not have enough jobs for everyone as it is!!
The NHS receives so much money that it really has no reason not to be an excellent service! But what about the care of the elderly and the long-term sick? Do these aspects of the NHS work well? I suggest not. Just read how the elderly and those with dementia etc are treated.
I suggest that Brown really does deserve the title of ‘worst prime minister’ in modern times.

Brown is the man in charge of MPs expenses. What a mess he has made of it!
Now he wants to change the way parliament works in order to fix the problems he has caused.
When will that man learn that he was not competent enough to run the MPs expenses (judging from the mess that resulted) and that he is not the man to fix the problems he has caused.
Brown has already removed most of our democratic processes by selling us out to the EU without a vote!
Changing what remains for us to influence within our democracy is not something I would trust Brown to manage properly.

Labour have all the facts and figures of the UK economy. They know which departments of government can be cut and they know the cost savings!
Yet they won’t share that with the other parties!
They are benefiting themselves before the needs of the UK population. As far as I am concerned this is a treasonable act!
But it won’t benefit New Labour that much! They have had the economic facts and figures for over thirteen years now. But they still put us into a massively damaging recession!

I like the way that Gordon Brown could not even organise an investigation that would keep him in the clear!
Why would he give the investigator the right to change the expenses rules retrospectively with the result that MPs who had followed the rules and been in the clear were now branded as cheats and thieves?
Most enquiries of this sort recommend changes of the rules that need to be introduced! And then everybody follows the recommendations!
This is a serious political mistake by Brown. He has inflamed the voters of this country against all politicians and MPs. What is he up to?
Cameron would have handled the situation very much better!!

This did make me laugh.
New Labour have a problem with the outgoing Chief of the General Staff, General Sir Richard Dannat. He has been telling things as they are.
So just like nice, ordinary people would do when they don’t agree with someone, New Labour make a series of Freedom of Information requests to find out what his expenses claims have been.
In their eyes, and presumably because they put this officer in the same category of person as they are, they expected to find loads of expense claims so they could make them public and embarress the General in public.
Unfortunately for them, the General is a totally different type of person to them. His expense claims were not in thsame ball park as the defense minister.
Between April 1 2005 and March 31st 2009, the General claimed £19K in expenses.
In the same time period, the defense secretary Bob Ainsworth claimed £394K of expenses!
An own goal indeed. I know whom I would prefer to be running the country!!!

Interesting to see what happens now. As I have blogged before, there are very few MPs who have actually broken any rules.
Be fascinating to see MPs being prosecuted when they followed the rules for claiming expenses that were set by this government!
It would be a bit unfair to prosecute people for following the rules, especially when their expenses have been accepted by the officials running the system.
I already expect some claims for damages by MPs who have been chucked out and deselected for following the rules!
They must feel very let down by the government and they have certainly been damaged by what has happened.

I suspect that the result of the New Labour MPs meeting that is going on now is that the Labour MPs are going to support Brown!
They don’t really have a choice. Labour cannot have another unelected Leader. They would be crucified by the people of the UK if they tried that again!
So whatever they think of Brown, they are stuck with him!
They could leave Brown as PM and give some MPs the job of managing him, effectively a puppet leader with the real power behind the throne!
New Labour is a sham. The object was to pretend to the UK that New Labour was no longer a socialist party. The pretence was that New Labour embodied all the elements of the Conservative party policies whilst still retaining socialist values.
This sham, which could only work if it had a dynamic, charasmatic leader, was successful whilst Blair was personally holding the house of cards together. Managing the press and the news media was an important part of the pretence.
When Blair left (had he seen the inevitable collapse of ‘New’ Labour?) he passed control over to Brown without an election! This was the first mistake. The second mistake was that Brown is totally the wrong sort of person to replace Blair.
In my view Brown could never have replaced Blair. Now the country can see for themselves that New Labour is simply another manifestation of the Emperor’s New Clothes.

The New Labour vote has collapsed. Perhaps it is because Gordon Brown’s handling of the UK economy is so poor. The UK economy is in a terrible state, the consequences are going to have to be massive tax rises to pay for the incompetence of those running the country.
The recent elections have hit Labour hard. They blame the expenses row. But the Conservatives have done very well in both the local elections and the European election. So have the Libdems. So it cannot just be the expenses mess.
Perhaps people understand that New Labor and Gordon Brown are responsible for the expenses problems!
All the Labour people on TV and the radio seem to think that there is no competent person in the party who could do a better job than Brown who has actually got everything wrong. Perhaps they are right!

What an interesting day.
the UK seems to be in a strange position.
We have a government but nobody seems to want them. Does Labour, or do I mean, does Gordon Brown, have any credibility at all now?
The resignation of Norwich North MP Ian Gibson will now bring a by election which will be another test of Gordon Brown.
The UK is in an awful financial state. The one single person who is most responsible for this mess is Gordon Brown. His reputation is shot to pieces. He is totally discredited now. He was not elected as the prime minister and this fact alone rankles deeply with many people. But if he had done a good, or even reasonable job, then most people would accept him.
But he has not done a good job!
As chancellor he inherited a Golden Inheritance, an economy in really good shape. He took the credit for this, ascribing it to his good stewardship.
Clearly however, his good stewardship was not the reason that the economy was so good for many years. It is obvious now that the economy remained so healthy for the first years of Brown’s stewardship because did not actually change the policies of the previous Conservative government!
Then Brown and Blair went on a spending spree. They abandoned the policies that had kept the economy stable and blew the lot. Many people tell me that this resulted in good hospitals, schools etc and to an extent this is right, some of the money was indeed spent this way.
But we do need a proper analysis of where the money went. Because most of the new hospitals andnew schools etc seem to have been built on borrowed money. The UK built up debt to pay for these hospitals and schools. This debt is known as the Private Finance Initiative or PFI for short and is a massive amount of money.
Brown has redefined the UK debit levels to exclude the PFI as part of the UK debt.
My personal view is that this is just deceiving the people about the state of the UK economy. There are some other debts, huge amounts of money, that are also excluded from the UK debt levels. (I do get wound up when I hear Brown on the tv saying that the UK has the low debt levels because he is choosing to ignore these other debts.)
So when the economy went into a nosedive following the global credit crunch problem (caused by the banks and financial institutions not being properly regulated!), the consequences of the bad stewardship of Brown come to the forefront.
The UK is in an awful financial mess. The policy of going into debt to spend huge amounts of money to get out of a recession caused by debt levels has to be questionable.
Simply because we then have another massive problem of having to pay the debt back!
