Labour or New Labour, UK political party

The true legacy of Labour is becoming more clear as time goes on.
The focus has been on the complete mess that they made of our economy.
The total waste of tax payers money has left the UK with so much debt that we simply cannot afford to properly care for those in need – there are just so many of them now!
But what did the education system do to our youth? Labour policies made ‘adults’ out of children. They introduced a massive divide between adults and children.
Labour policies taught children that they had the ‘right” to behave as they wanted, that they could do as they wanted and that adults / parents / authorities had no right to tell them what to do!
We now have a lawless sub-class in our society – ruined and damaged children who will mostly grow up to be ruined and damaged adults.

I have just heard Hazel Blears talking about these ‘thugs’ who need to be dealt with ‘properly’, and the ‘generations’ of criminals in families.
These concerns were simply IGNORED by Labour over the last forteen years!! All sensible people knew that bad behaviour needs to be punished BUT Labour did not allow children to be punished. They had armies of do-gooders who made EXCUSES for bad behaviour of children. Courts could not deal properly with teenagers and youngsters who were basically out of control. A whole generation of children were taught by Labour’s incompetent social policies that they could behave AS THEY WANTED with no fear of consequences. Even if they were caught these children would often receive benefits such as holidays. In my view Labour’s economic and social policies have damaged the UK severely!

Those people who are due to retire are beginning to realize that the pensions that they have paid for over the years are not going to be enough to live on!
I just hope that they remember why our pensions are going to be so poor for years to come.
Gordon Brown and Labour introduced a tax on pensions which has significantly reduced the values of our pensions.
Why did he do this? Was it just a deliberate political attack on the middle classes?
But he knew what he was doing and he knew the consequences for peoples pensions! People are beginning to realize now that they are going to have problems when they retire. Many will have to work for longer.
The damage that Labour did to our economy will have ramifications for all of us for years to come!

The unions and the Labour party need to learn the financial lessons that Greece is now going through! Labour totally messed up the UK economy in their time in power!!
Yet the unions, who own labour, want to have their cake and eat it!!
The unions striking for more money and less cuts is so, so cynical. The Labour party caused the financial problems in the UK yet they don’t want any consequences of their own actions to affect themselves and their members.
The trade union members did not cause the problems BUT they voted for the people who did! The cuts have to be made or the UK will go the way of Greece. Doesn’t anyone in Labour remember the consequences of the IMF running the UK after a previous Labour government bankrupted the UK economy?
I hate this greedy, selfish attitude of the trade unions. As long as they are OK it doesn’t matter what happens to anyone else!!!

It is quite amusing to see all these people complaining about libdems breaking their promises. They know that these pledges were given as part of the Libdems election campaign.
These complainers know that these pledges cannot be implemented unless the Libdems are elected.
I would guess that most of these people are Labour supporters trying to break the coalition, or they really do not understand the political facts of life!
The UK owes the LibDems a favour for keeping Labour out of power. Just look at the immense damage that Labour did under Blair and Brown.
Most of the Labour ministers are the same ones who were in the last government. Could anyone actually trust Labour not to complete the job and actually bankrupt the UK if they got back into power?
I wouldn’t!

It is interesting to see all these anti-cameron/conservative posts on the various newspaper forums.
The comments tend not to be at all constructive, simply slagging off cameron or clegg or the conservatives in general.
These people all have short memories – it was the Labour government that so messed up our economy that the UK needs to cut costs which means some public services need to be reduced.
The coalition government is not cutting services for fun! It has to be done to avoid the same fate as Ireland suffered and Portugal has now fallen into.
Being taken over by the IMF has a dramatic affect on the public services on the country. The UK has avoided this disaster so far.
Remember the IMF taking over a failed UK economy before? That was a Labour government – they seem to make a habit of almost bankrupting UK economies!

Balls says that there is an alternative. He is right. The UK could go bust and then we would have the IMF running our economy.
Balls and Milliband say that we can keep spending money on services. But that means more and more borrowing!
That was how Labour got us into such a mess in the first place.
Labour are NOT in power. They can say what they want because their views will not be put to the test!
What they are saying is disingenuous because they could NOT keep borrowing money if they were in power.

It is very cynical of Milliband to take part in the public demonstrations against cuts which are only necessary because of the total mess made by the last Labour government of which he was a member!
The ‘too fast, too soon’ mantra he repeats actually shows a lack of understanding of how bad the UK economy was left in by Labour.
Labour, New or otherwise, has no answer to the charges that they have severely damaged our lives, our jobs, our NHS, our pensions and retirements, etc.
The current generation of teenagers will not have the same work prospects as previous generations.
The list of bad consequences of the Blair/Brown governments is long!
Yet Milliband is out on the streets campaigning about the necessary steps being taken by the coalition to get the UK economy back on track. Very cynical because he would be doing mostly the same steps as the coalition if he was in power!

The more we find out about the appalling (in my view) Labour government of the last 13 years, the more debt is revealed that we are now having to pay for.
Did anybody in the last government stand up against this lemming-like drive by Blair and Brown to just spend, spend and spend public money regardless of the debt being built up for future generations?
No wonder student loans have to be increase! No wonder we are having to cut public services!
These cuts are not the fault of the current government. They are having to be done because of the actions of the last Labour government.
I cannot imagine why anyone would ever trust a Labour government again! (especially when the current opposition consists mostly of the same people who made such a mess of our economy!)

Labour broke ALL of its election promises to the people of the UK with its inept and incompetent management of the UK economy under Brown.
The dreams and plans of so many people and families in our country went down the plughole with our economy!
Higher costs, lower incomes, damaged lives – all the legacy of the New Labour term in power.
Don’t blame those who are having to repair the damage that was done by the last government.
