The polls are moving in the right direction for Cameron. Still time to get a majority over Labour.
People must be beginning to recognise that Brown and New Labour have made such a mess of the UK economy that it would be foolish to expect them to able to fix the problems that have cause.
After all, the only thing that Brown and New Labour have proved so far is that they can take the Golden Inheritance from the last Conservative government and turn it into the biggest financial mess the UK has had!!
And Gordon and the cabinet did this all on their own, without the help of anyone one else!

People might guess that I am not a great fan of New Labour, Gordon Brown and Tony Blair!
But I do think that I have very good reasons for my contempt of this political party.
Labour’s economic credentials were dealt a blow yesterday after it emerged that the number of long-term unemployed has nearly doubled in just two years. The long-term jobless hits total has hit a 13-year high of 726,000.
The last Conservative government achieved more than this Labour government has done!
The overall unemployment broke through the 2.5 million total for the first time since Labour came to power!
New Labour has taken the Golden Inheritance of the last Conservative government and turned the UK into an economic and financial disaster!
Gordon Brown’s welfare-to-work schemes have successfully created a ‘lost generation’ that will struggle to find employment.

Clegg was allowed to talk non-stop during the discussion. I thought that there were rules on this. Be interesting to see the percentages of time that each leader was speaking.
So if he is seen by people as a viable leader then who will the libdems take the seats from?
It looks like Labour will lose more seats to Clegg than the Conservatives would because Libdems are strong in Labour’s inner city areas. Those Labour supporters laughing at Cameron should perhaps look at how the Libdems could put them in third place in the election results.

Brown admits mistakes: I should have reigned in the reckless banks.
This is an amazing confession!! It is a personal admittance that Brown failed to regulate the UK financial industries properly
before the recession hit.
Brown did not see the recession coming because of this failure of regulation. There is no one else to blame, it as simple as that.
Plenty of other people saw the risks in what was happening in the UK and around the world. They cleared their debts, sold properties, many moved abroad.
But this government , under Brown’s management, did not respond to events around the globe. Yes it was a global recession. But the UK was not prepared for it, and the UK has probably suffered more than most other countries who are now mostly out of serious problems.
The UK is just starting the painful process of cutting jobs, cutting services, taxing everyone significantly more, and this process will go on for years.
Brown was the man in charge. It is right that he and his government should be rejected by the voters.
Let the Conservatives fix what Gordon Brown and New Labour messed up!!!!

More than three million older people will be forced to wait up to five years for their free bus pass after a ‘sneaky’ rule change.
Who does this sneaky, disgusting bit of politics, actually hurt the most? The answer is the elderly.
These people have paid their taxes over many years, most have worked for over 40 years in the UK.
Yet Brown and Darling target them in this nasty bit of legislation just to save some money at the expense of the elderly.
Everybody should be very wary of everything that Brown and Darling do! It does not seem to me that they are serving the UK, rather that they are protecting themselves.
It just show how deep in trouble the UK is after 13 years of Brown and Darling, and how far they will go to protect themselves at the expense of the UK population.

Darling has continually claimed that the NI increases would not lead to job losses. A number of Labour ministers attacked the Conservatives plans to drop the proposed NI increases.
Brown even accused all the business leaders who objected to the NI increase as being ‘naive’.
I find it difficult to accept that Brown and Darling actually believed that what they were saying about the NI increases was true. So I am left with the unpalatable idea that Labour were not being truthful when they continued to attack Cameron and the business leaders for wanting to drop the proposed NI increases.
Elected governments must be open and truthful or they are no better than a dictatorship!!!

New Labour and Brown have employed so many public sector workers, both employed directly or subcontracted through other companies.
We simply cannot afford many of these people now. There is no money to pay for them.
The tragedy is that many of these people are not doing jobs that seem to matter. In terms of value to the UK economy there appears to be few consequences to losing many of these jobs!!!!
Are these real jobs? Can we measure their productivity? Can we see positive results from these jobs? Or has Labour simply employed many of these people in order to keep unemployment down?

New Labour are making a real big deal about the opposition to increases in the NI. It should be obvious to them that we need as many jobs in the UK as possible and that increasing taxes on jobs is not the best thing to do!
And the jobs need to be in the private sector. Public sector jobs are paid for by our taxes. Every new public sector job increases the UK debt levels!
But Brown, New Labour and Mandelson seem to be unable to cope with any criticism of their plans. It comes over as a ‘matter of principle’ that Labour will not accept any criticism even if it is obvious to most that Labour is wrong!
This just reinforces the fact that New Labour, and Brown, have dealt with the UK economy so very well that the UK is in deep trouble. We now have huge debts. We are now facing huge tax increases in almost every aspect of our lives.
We now cannot afford to maintain most public services.
We couldn’t afford the salt in the winter and now the roads are falling apart and will cost billions to repair! What crazy logic from this government stopped them from buying enough salt, which really was the cheap option!, even though they knew road surfaces would be seriously damaged by the freezing temperatures. It might save a million or two now, but will cost hundreds of millions over the next few years.
When Brown promises to ring fence an NHS service, then that means the other NHS services will be cut! If they were not at risk of being cut then there would be no need to ring fence certain services!
I want to see a government in power which is prepared to govern for the benefit of the UK and NOT to spend all their efforts trying to maintain their own positions in government!
The fact that Brown refuses to release the financial data for the UK means several things:
- He is hiding the size of the financial mess that he has put the UK into.
- He is trying to stop the opposition from making their plans for government.
Brown is able to attack the opposition by claiming that they don’t have the finances right. We would not know if the opposition is right or wrong, since we do not know the figures either!
On the other hand we don’t know if Brown is right or wrong, since he does not reveal the figures that his policies are based on!

Well, it didn’t take long for the budget figures to start to unravel!!!!! The Stamp Duty increase for £1m homes will not pay for first-time buyers’ tax holiday!
This was just a political speech even though the UK is desperate for some real, effective policies to sort out the mess following 14 years of brown, darling and blair!
Labour put their own interests before the needs of the UK. That is enough of a reason for them to be chucked out of office!

Our government plans massive fines of a £1000 for people who simply make a mistake of having the wrong rubbish in the wrong bin!
This is an appalling move by this government whose job is too ensure a fair and equitable society with an emphasis on helping those who are not that well off!!!
How can any elected government propose to treat people so badly?
Most people simply do not have £1000 or anything like it in order to pay these fines. It would absolutely ruin them. They could easily end up losing everything once bailiffs and the courts got involved.
This government knows that the most likely people to make such mistakes are the lower paid, the pensioners and the more vulnerable members of our society.
How can a family who have perhaps only £80 a week for all their food bills, travel, clothes etc. even begin to pay off such a fine. In such families even a £50 fine is crippling.
Yet a banker can pay a £1000 from the petty cash!!! New Labour have lost touch with the concept of an equitable society. It would seem that the Labour Government members now see themselves as ‘upper class’ and have lost all desire for an equitable society provided they get massive salaries for themselves, loads of perks, and own a number of houses!
After 14 years of New Labour, the UK is close to bankruptcy and the average person in the UK is suffering financially through lost jobs, many have lost their mortgages, most have no savings, most are looking forward to a difficult few years due to the failure of the economy.
Only the worst dictatorships can get away with treating their people with such indifference!!!
