What has New Labour done for the UK?
Posted by michael on January 25, 2010
The war in Iraq was a bad decision by blair and New Labour. It is quite clear that we should never have been involved in this war.
Blair talks about regime change. Yes, Iraq had an awful leader. But that was no justification for going to war against the people of Iraq!!
And why stop at Iraq?? There are plenty of other evil and unpleasant regimes around the world. Did blair intend to invade all of these countries as well? blair and new labour have messed up our country big time!
We now have to be on guard 24×7 against bombing and attacks on UK citizens around the world. This is the legacy of Blair, Brown and New Labour!
Brown has now been shown to have been fully involved in the decision to go to war.
Brown and New Labour do not deserve another term in government. They have done us all enough harm already!

New Labour – desperate for a class war ?
Posted by michael on December 29, 2009
Naturally Labour are desperate to show a class war with the Conservatives helping their rich friends and New Labour helping their poor, lower paid supporters.
The poor, lower paid have of course been the focus of the the last 12 years of New Labour in government?
Actually NO! Labour have failed to look after the lower paid. They have failed to support their union friends.
Living standards for the poor are worse now than 12 years ago.
Child poverty, despite the money spent on it, is as bad as it ever was.
Education standards are lower in state schools!
New Labour like their millionaire friends, to have (several) expensive houses, to be photographed with important people, to jump when the USA tells them to!
New Labour have no right to claim that they care for the poor. The traditional left-wing Labour MPs appear to have been sidelined!
Blair and Brown and many of their ministers would appear to be only interested in living the high life! Now the chickens are steadily coming home to roost and New Labour are beginning to understand that they have isolated themselves from almost all areas of society.
An example of Brown and Labour putting themselves before the country is the refusal of this government to stand down now and have an election.
The UK is in desperate straits. The finances are shot. The debts are huge and will take years to pay back. Public Services are being cut. Decisions are being taken by a government whose focus is on surviving the next six months.
How can that be good for the UK? We need decisive action and long term decision making. Whilst New Labour hang on to power looking for ways to survive, they are putting the interests of the UK after the interests of the country!

Blairs failure to be appointed EU president
Posted by michael on November 22, 2009
I do not understand how Blair the warmonger could ever have expected to have been the EU president. He had too much baggage as a result of the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Blair didn’t join in with the Americans to attack Iraq in order to remove Saddam Hussein and his thug sons!! If that was justifiable then think how many other countries we would need to invade for the same reason!
As far as I am concerned Blair set out to con the British public by scaring them over the weapons of mass destruction! The most cynical step was putting tanks on the streets and at the airports!
We did not have a terrorist problem until Blair and Bush went to war against Iraq. This was a significant point in the history of the world and there are many consequences, mostly bad, that have stemmed directly from the actions of Blair and Bush.
History will not see these two leaders in a positive light.

European legislation undoes RBS and Lloyds merger
Posted by michael on November 3, 2009
It was public knowledge on the day that the banks were merged that this would not be accepted by European legislation!
Yet the government persisted with this move, even though they knew that they would have to spend more or our money undoing the merger.
This is not joined up government and will cost us, the taxpayers, billions more in the form of debt to be repaid over the years!
Another incompetent decision by this government?

Blair the Warmonger as EU president!!
Posted by michael on October 28, 2009
I fail to understand how Blair the Warmonger would even be considered as the EU president!!
All the damage throughout Europe with terrorist attacks and the continual 24×7 risk of further bombings are the result of the UK, headed by Blair and Brown, invading Iraq and Afghanistan.
Blair has caused so much trouble throughout Europe with his apparent natural instinct to invade other countries. People seem to forget that in a fairly short time the UK was involved in THREE wars under Blair as prime minister.
Having Blair as the EU president is not a signal to the rest of the world that the EU is a potential threat to them!

Irish EU treaty vote
Posted by michael on October 2, 2009
The Irish have another opportunity to vote to accept the European Union Lisbon Treaty.
They got it wrong last time. They dared to vote NO.
Can you image for one moment that they would be having a second chance to vote today if they had said YES the first time?
This is not democracy in action.
This is politicians manipulating the electoral system until they get the result that they want!
New Labour did not even give the UK a chance to vote. They said that they would but reneged on that promise.
The Conservatives said that we can have a vote. But they linked it to the result of the Irish vote. I don’t know why the link is there.
If the Irish say NO then the treaty is finished (at least for the next 12 months!).
If the Irish say YES then the UK must have a chance to vote for itself. I do not want to be bound by the votes of Irish people. That is NOT democracy.
The fact that Tony Blair the war monger could be the next EU president makes it even more important that the UK has a chance to vote for themselves.
David Cameron – guarantee an election victory. Give the UK a chance to vote and accept their choice for the next 10 years at least!

Gordon Brown ‘Statesman of the Year’
Posted by michael on September 25, 2009
So Gordon Brown is ‘Statesman of the Year’
It explains a lot. This award is going to embarrass him. It would seem to show where his priorities are!
We have been through a massive recession, which Brown, as prime minister should have foreseen and prepared us for.
He has obviously been more focused on global events than he has been on looking after the UK. No wonder he didn’t see the recession coming!
The UK is in recession, in deep financial trouble. It might show signs of coming out of recession now, but the UK now has such high debts that we all have to suffer tax increases and reduced services for years to come as a result.
Yet Gordon Brown was able to spend so much time on world events that he has got an award for it!
Brown cannot claim that he could do both jobs simply because of the deep financial mess that he has left us in.
His lack of time working for the UK has left us leadership through troubled financial times.
People are going to blame him, and New Labour, for abandoning the UK for his own personal ambitions.

Gordon Brown on financial matters
Posted by michael on September 5, 2009
International finance ministers are meeting in London today to find way to curb excessive bank bonuses.
Gordon Brown has been the chancellor and then the Prime Minister for more than 12 years.
He turned the ‘Golden Inheritance’ of the Conservatives into a recession and left us with huge debts for the many years to come.
Why does he think that his opinion on financial matters is of any value? Except perhaps as a warning of what not to do!
