Libdems taking all the flak

Posted by michael on May 6, 2011

It is quite amusing to see all these people complaining about libdems breaking their promises. They know that these pledges were given as part of the Libdems election campaign.

These complainers know that these pledges cannot be implemented unless the Libdems are elected.

I would guess that most of these people are Labour supporters trying to break the coalition, or they really do not understand the political facts of life!

The UK owes the LibDems a favour for keeping Labour out of power. Just look at the immense damage that Labour did under Blair and Brown.

Most of the Labour ministers are the same ones who were in the last government. Could anyone actually trust Labour not to complete the job and actually bankrupt the UK if they got back into power?

I wouldn’t!

Avoiding the IMF

Posted by michael on April 7, 2011

It is interesting to see all these anti-cameron/conservative posts on the various newspaper forums.

The comments  tend not to be at all constructive, simply slagging off cameron or clegg or the conservatives in general.

These people all have short memories – it was the Labour government that so messed up our economy that the UK  needs to cut costs which means some public services need to be reduced.

The coalition government is not cutting services for fun! It has to be done to avoid the same fate as Ireland suffered and Portugal has now fallen into.

Being taken over by the IMF has a dramatic affect on the public services on the country.  The UK has avoided this disaster so far.

Remember the IMF taking over a failed UK economy before? That was a Labour government – they seem to make a habit of almost bankrupting UK economies!

Milliband

Posted by michael on March 26, 2011

It is very cynical of Milliband to take part in the public demonstrations against cuts which are only necessary because of the total mess made by the last Labour government of which he was a member!

The ‘too fast, too soon’ mantra he repeats actually shows a lack of  understanding of how bad the UK economy was left in by Labour.

Labour, New or otherwise, has no answer to the charges that they have severely damaged our lives, our jobs, our NHS, our pensions and retirements, etc.

The current generation of teenagers will not have the same work prospects as previous generations.

The list of bad consequences of the Blair/Brown governments is long!

Yet Milliband is out on the streets campaigning about the necessary steps being taken by the coalition to get the UK economy back on track. Very cynical because he would be doing mostly the same steps as the coalition if he was in power!

Labour – incompetent with money?

Posted by michael on March 25, 2011

Did the last Labour government actually understand anything about the value of money, savings and debt?
Brown was happy to put extra taxes on everyones pension payments even though it would have a detrimental affect on our pensions and lives when we retired.
Labour was very happy to borrow as much money as they could, without any apparent regard to the fact that these debts would have to be paid back at some stage in the future.
Did Brown understand that repaying this debt was to come out of our, the peoples, pockets and the whole process would mean increased taxes that would have serious consequences on peoples jobs and lives?
If Labour did not understand what they were doing then it is a plain case of incompetence.
If they did understand what they were doing then they were choosing to bring financial pain and suffering on us all when it became time to repay the debts.

The appalling debt legacy of Brown and Blair

Posted by michael on February 10, 2011

The more we find out about the appalling (in my view) Labour government of the last 13 years, the more debt is revealed that we are now having to pay for.

Did anybody in the last government stand up against this lemming-like drive by Blair and Brown to just spend, spend and spend public money regardless of the debt being built up for future generations?

No wonder student loans have to be increase! No wonder we are having to cut public services!

These cuts are not the fault of the current government. They are having to be done because of the actions of the last Labour government.

I cannot imagine why anyone would ever trust a Labour government again! (especially when the current opposition consists mostly of the same people who made such a mess of our economy!)

Don’t blame the messenger!

Posted by michael on February 4, 2011

Labour broke ALL of its election promises to the people of the UK with its inept and incompetent management of the UK economy under Brown.

The dreams and plans of so many people and families in our country went down the plughole with our economy!

Higher costs, lower incomes, damaged lives – all the legacy of the New Labour term in power.

Don’t blame those who are having to repair the damage that was done by the last government.

the student riots are politically motivated

Posted by michael on December 12, 2010

All those against the Conservative government are still pushing this line that Clegg is ‘dishonest’ and breaks his pledges.

But it is blatantly obvious to everyone, except those with a separate agenda, that Clegg could NOT expect the Conservatives to adopt all the LibDem policies.

The Libdems are lucky to get ANY of their policies adopted – they could not get into power on their own!

But note that the leaders of these protests were at first all carrying socialist and trade union banners.

These are the people who started the protest and they are simply trying to attack the Conservative government by damaging the coalition.

Many of those well-intended students are politically naive and have been taken advantage of by the socialists.

Put the blame for this chaos where it really belongs, that is on the trade unions and Labour.

Are the students protesters politically ignorant?

Posted by michael on December 9, 2010

Many of the students who publicly demonstrating against the student loan increases are naive and seem to be politically ignorant.

They have been drawn into an attack on the Tory government by the socialists. Many of those leading the demonstrations had Labour or socialist banners.

Labour doesn’t have the moral ground to attack the government on the issue of student finance. They introduced the concept of student loans in the first place and had planned similar changes to those proposed by the current government.

And the only reason we need to increase the cost of student loans in the first place is because Labour almost bankrupted the UK in its 13 years of power! Our government needs to implement financial cuts and increase revenues because of the awful Labour government that was voted out of power a short time ago.

Many of these students need to grow up a bit and take the trouble to understand how they are being used by the opponents to the Conservative government!

Labour have no political direction or identity

Posted by michael on November 24, 2010

Labour have not had any political direction or identity since blair became their leader.

Blair got the country to vote for him on personalities not politics.Labour did not seem to have any idea of what to do once they were in power!

The result was that Labour almost ruined the UK economy and put the UK into serious debt.

We almost went the way of the Irish economy. The election came just in time for the Conservatives to halt the inevitable economic crash that Labour overspending would have caused!

The new Labour leadership are mostly the same bunch that almost destroyed the UK economy.

How can anyone ever expect them to behave differently in the future?

the Labour leadership contest is a sham!

Posted by michael on September 13, 2010

It doesn’t matter which Milliband or which person wins the Labour leadership contest!
Almost all the candidates were personally part of the appalling government of blair and brown.
How can these people campaign against the ConLib government when they  were part of the government that made such a financial mess our economy.
Every time they try to speak about the economy they will be reminded that they caused the problems in the first place!
It show the bankruptcy of the Labour party that there are no better candidates than those who are standing for the Labour leadership!
The  Union leaders are promising demonstrations on our streets to protest against cuts. What a shame they allowed blair and brown to do so much damage to our economy in the first place.
The union leaders should now keep silent whilst the government works to sort the UK economy out!
