Labour back in power in 2015?

Posted by michael on April 1, 2012

Milliband claims that Labour will be back in power in 2015?

Last week they couldn’t even hold one of their strongest constituencies!

The polls might show that Labour is ahead but it is because the Coalition government has to make really difficult economic decisions as a result of the total mess that Labour made of the UK economy in their 14 years of power.

In 2015 we will still be paying back the debts dumped on us by Labour in power. No one will trust Labour and anything they say about economic policies.

The financial pain caused by Labour’s inept policies will still be hurting the voters.

Perhaps dumping every Labour minister who held power in the last government would be a prudent move to make now if Labour want to try to get back into power!

Of course we should by then have broken the links between the Labour party and the Trade Unions. That could give Labour a big funding problem as so much of their money came from the Trade Unions.

the UK press – destabilising the country just to make news!

Posted by michael on March 31, 2012

That comment about ‘toxifying the tories’ is just nonsense! The real problems are:

(1) most of the Press seem to be working to destabilise the government just so that they can sell more papers, and

(2) the government has to stop the UK from becoming a basket case like Greece . Some of the other EU countries are close to collapse and the UK could easily follow if the correct measures are not taken.

So the press now support the Labour party (by definition that means the Trade Unions) whilst criticising the Labour party leadership as feeble and at the same time helping Labour to attack the Conservatives.

Are the press now paid by results? No matter how damaging what they publish is to the UK??

It does seem that the more dramatic the story then they sell more papers and the more money they get paid?

Cameron is right to walk away from the Euro zone

Posted by michael on December 12, 2011

Cameron did the right for one reason and one reason only.

The Euro zone (not the EU itself) wanted to finance itself by taxing the UK financial industry!!! We are not in the Euro zone. It is inconceivable that this should be allowed to happen.

The UK needs to tax the UK financial industry for the benefit of the UK!!

The Euro zone is a major disaster waiting to happen. It is a stupid idea for so many diverse nations to have a single currency – it just cannot work anywhere except in the imaginations of politicians who want to benefit from the power (and money) that such an organisation would give them!

I find it sad that the Libdems have lost the plot so completely that they would give away the inevitable tax on the UK financial industry and not be bothered about the need for this money to help the UK economy!!!

The Lib Dems have a strange idea of what is in the best interests of the United Kingdom!

Some people are attacking the current government over the UK economy

Posted by michael on October 16, 2011

Some people are attacking the current government over the UK economy. They tend not to mention at all the huge mess that 14 years of Labour has caused the UK.

The trade unions are complaining about the UK economy. Strange that – they obviously expect people not to know the the Trade Unions own the Labour party and are therefore themselves responsible for the awful state of our economy!

Labour even took over with the ‘golden inheritance’ and Labour still spent all the money and left the UK population with massive debts to pay off!

Do people expect the current government to continue to spend money as the last lot did?

I am not well off! Should I keep borrowing and to hell with the consequences?

Should I cheat and steal from people who have got the things that I want? Should I try to con someone else out of their possessions?

Of course some people in the UK are well off. Best of luck to them. I hope they choose to spend their wealth to help others. But it would be wrong to make them do this!

Many people in the UK are suffering because of the actions of the last government. I just hope that we don’t go the way of Greece!!!

Would the EU support the UK economy if required?

Posted by michael on June 25, 2011

I abhor the very idea of the European Union and that we should pay for another countries incompetence in running their own economy! The Greeks appear to have totally mismanaged their economy and deserve what they are going through! But I am also aware that the UK economy is also in a perilous state following 10 years of a Labour government. If our economy collapses as has happened in Greece, would the rest of the EU refuse to help us financially on the basis that it was self-inflicted damage by Brown, Darling and the last Labour government?

Libdems taking all the flak

Posted by michael on May 6, 2011

It is quite amusing to see all these people complaining about libdems breaking their promises. They know that these pledges were given as part of the Libdems election campaign.

These complainers know that these pledges cannot be implemented unless the Libdems are elected.

I would guess that most of these people are Labour supporters trying to break the coalition, or they really do not understand the political facts of life!

The UK owes the LibDems a favour for keeping Labour out of power. Just look at the immense damage that Labour did under Blair and Brown.

Most of the Labour ministers are the same ones who were in the last government. Could anyone actually trust Labour not to complete the job and actually bankrupt the UK if they got back into power?

I wouldn’t!

Avoiding the IMF

Posted by michael on April 7, 2011

It is interesting to see all these anti-cameron/conservative posts on the various newspaper forums.

The comments  tend not to be at all constructive, simply slagging off cameron or clegg or the conservatives in general.

These people all have short memories – it was the Labour government that so messed up our economy that the UK  needs to cut costs which means some public services need to be reduced.

The coalition government is not cutting services for fun! It has to be done to avoid the same fate as Ireland suffered and Portugal has now fallen into.

Being taken over by the IMF has a dramatic affect on the public services on the country.  The UK has avoided this disaster so far.

Remember the IMF taking over a failed UK economy before? That was a Labour government – they seem to make a habit of almost bankrupting UK economies!

The appalling debt legacy of Brown and Blair

Posted by michael on February 10, 2011

The more we find out about the appalling (in my view) Labour government of the last 13 years, the more debt is revealed that we are now having to pay for.

Did anybody in the last government stand up against this lemming-like drive by Blair and Brown to just spend, spend and spend public money regardless of the debt being built up for future generations?

No wonder student loans have to be increase! No wonder we are having to cut public services!

These cuts are not the fault of the current government. They are having to be done because of the actions of the last Labour government.

I cannot imagine why anyone would ever trust a Labour government again! (especially when the current opposition consists mostly of the same people who made such a mess of our economy!)

the student riots are politically motivated

Posted by michael on December 12, 2010

All those against the Conservative government are still pushing this line that Clegg is ‘dishonest’ and breaks his pledges.

But it is blatantly obvious to everyone, except those with a separate agenda, that Clegg could NOT expect the Conservatives to adopt all the LibDem policies.

The Libdems are lucky to get ANY of their policies adopted – they could not get into power on their own!

But note that the leaders of these protests were at first all carrying socialist and trade union banners.

These are the people who started the protest and they are simply trying to attack the Conservative government by damaging the coalition.

Many of those well-intended students are politically naive and have been taken advantage of by the socialists.

Put the blame for this chaos where it really belongs, that is on the trade unions and Labour.

Are the students protesters politically ignorant?

Posted by michael on December 9, 2010

Many of the students who publicly demonstrating against the student loan increases are naive and seem to be politically ignorant.

They have been drawn into an attack on the Tory government by the socialists. Many of those leading the demonstrations had Labour or socialist banners.

Labour doesn’t have the moral ground to attack the government on the issue of student finance. They introduced the concept of student loans in the first place and had planned similar changes to those proposed by the current government.

And the only reason we need to increase the cost of student loans in the first place is because Labour almost bankrupted the UK in its 13 years of power! Our government needs to implement financial cuts and increase revenues because of the awful Labour government that was voted out of power a short time ago.

Many of these students need to grow up a bit and take the trouble to understand how they are being used by the opponents to the Conservative government!
