RBS debts threaten the stability of the UK economy

Posted by michael on February 23, 2012

Having just heard a summary of the RBS debts, and how they got into that position in the first place, I would actually want to encourage those people who are obviously working very hard to stop the bank from going bust.

The RBS debt alone is apparently twice the amount owed by Greece and, yes, a lot of the debt is owed by Greece so we won’t get that back!

If we pay peanuts we will get monkeys, and I know that monkeys may well have done a better job if they were running the bank at the time of the boom, but now we need people who can do the job properly and professionally for the sake of all of us!

If the people running RBS at the moment can fix it then we will all benefit and it will be worth the money we have to pay them to do the job properly.

Perhaps we would all feel better about this crisis if those Labour shadow ministers who created this awful mess in the first place had their own pensions and salaries cut to pay towards the financial crisis most of us are suffering from!

Stopping RBS banker bonuses

Posted by michael on November 12, 2011

Of course Cameron has to try to stop these abusive banks preying on their customers for the benefit of the bank bosses!!

But it isn’t easy to do.

I had to laugh at the idea of milliband painting himself as ‘the champion of the 99% who don’t get bonuses’!!! This whole greed of massive bonuses and massive salaries and pensions originated from the Blair/Brown governments.

Just look at the Trade Union officials and their pay and bonuses – hardly representing the working class! In fact the working class has been just that under Labour who have acted as most Socialist governments in the world have done – the rich (themselves) get richer and the poor get poorer!

Milliband can say whatever he wants – I see him as a caretaker Labour leader. When the next election is approaching then I expect him to be dumped and be replaced.

UK consumers need to spend to encourage growth

Posted by michael on October 5, 2011

People will have more money available by reducing the burden of debt. But I agree that it won’t be in the short term.

It all very well needing people to spend more to help the economy, but the banks will just keep increasing interest rates to benefit themselves!

There still won’t be much money for households to spend more!!

The best thing for the economy is for the banks to reduce interest rates! But there is no way that they will because they only care about their profits! Banks have become parasites on the consumers of our nation!
