Brown and Labour have wrecked the UK economy

Posted by michael on April 24, 2010

The polls are moving in the right direction for Cameron. Still time to get a majority over Labour.

People must be beginning to recognise that Brown and New Labour have made such a mess of the UK economy that it would be foolish to expect them to able to fix the problems that have cause.

After all, the only thing that Brown and New Labour have proved so far is that they can take the Golden Inheritance from the last Conservative government and turn it into the biggest financial mess the UK has had!!

And Gordon and the cabinet did this all on their own, without the help of anyone one else!

IF Brown could have run the UK better then he would have done!

Posted by michael on April 24, 2010

Amazing how many people are prepared to state what Cameron and the Conservatives are going to do next. Some sort of gift of prophecy?

Yet they forget all that Brown and New Labour have actually done, stuff that is all documented, it is in fact history.

How can anyone expect Brown and the rest of New Labour to do anything different than they have already done.

We have a major financial meltdown in progress. We are going to be taxed to the hilt and beyond just to pay the huge debts we have incurred. The UK economy now is almost on the same level as Greece!

IF Brown and New Labour could have run the UK better than they have managed to do, then I would suggest that they would have done better.
What we have seen in the financial meltdown is the best that Brown and New Labour can manage to do!

Their best is nowhere near good enough. That is why they should be out of power ASAP.

Brown ‘must have known’ about fears and smears election leaflets

Posted by michael on April 24, 2010

Of course Brown knew about this shameful manipulation of the elderly and the vulnerable by Labour campaigning.

When Cameron challenged him on TV, Brown simply did not deny it. His words were carefully chosen to give the impression of denial but he did not answer well enough.

Brown simply did not deny knowing about this smear campaign. He could have said many things such as ‘I did not know about this’, ‘I am not aware of this’ etc.

Instead Brown said ‘I did not authorise it‘.  In anybodies language that was an admission that he knew what was going on.

UK borrowed £163.4 billion in last financial year

Posted by michael on April 23, 2010

UK public borrowing is at record levels.

The UK government borrowed £163.4 billion in the financial year ending in March.

Tax receipts have fallen significantly. Too many people are out of work or earning minimum wages that do not attract tax. The Labour government is committed to paying huge public spending bills.

The nation’s borrowing almost doubled from the £96.5 billion cost last year.

Our borrowing is 11.5 per cent of national output (according to the Office for National Statistics).

This should give people an idea of the massive task ahead of us in clearing these debts. Each man, woman and child in the UK now has to find £15,000 each to clear this debt. (Obviously we are not each going to be asked to find £15000! – it is an average).

But, on average, we will pay this money through increased taxes, increased cost of living, new taxes, new and increased charges for everything, possibly 21% VAT, probably more parking regulations and higher fines across the board.

The government will have to get £15000 from each of us on average by hook or by crook.

This is what Brown and New Labour call success! It is what I call failure! How dare Brown adopt a financial policy which is going to hurt so many people over many years. Our government is meant to look after us , not milk us for everything we have got!

UK 0.2% growth in last three months

Posted by michael on April 23, 2010

0.2% growth in last three months.

How disappointing! This is such a small increase that it effectively represents no growth. It could easily be revised into a loss or, if we are lucky, it could be revised upwards.

Until we see the revised figures then the growth figure for the first three months of 2010 is effectively zero.

Brown expected big things from these figures. Recovery is under way he has been saying. Clearly he has  been WRONG!!!!

These growth figures do not represent an economy where recovery is under way.

Is Brown still the New Labour leader?

Posted by michael on April 23, 2010

Is Brown still the New Labour leader now? Or has he been sidelined because of his failures in running the UK economy and his inability to communicate with the public.

In the live debate last night Brown insisted he had not ‘authorised any leaflets like that’, referring to the campaign of lies about the Conservatives policy for the elderly.

So why has Brown not come out publicly denouncing these lies being spread in his name and publicly admonishing those who are involved in this campaign?

Brown is meant to be the New Labour leader, yet he apparently does not have enough power or authority to ban this campaign of lies taking place in his name!!

Brown claims that he had not ‘authorised’ any leaflets like that, but this is a meaningless statement really. It does not exclude Brown from knowing about the content of these leaflets or even being involved in writing the contents of these leaflets. ‘  All Brown has said is that he has not authorised the leaflets!

Brown and New Labour’s policies – 2.5 million unemployed!

Posted by michael on April 22, 2010

People might guess that I am not a great fan of New Labour, Gordon Brown and Tony Blair!

But I do think that I have very good reasons for my contempt of this political party.

Labour’s economic credentials were dealt a blow yesterday after it emerged that the number of long-term unemployed has nearly doubled in just two years. The long-term jobless hits total has hit a 13-year high of 726,000.

The last Conservative government achieved more than this Labour government has done!

The overall unemployment broke through the 2.5 million total for the first time since Labour came to power!

New Labour has taken the Golden Inheritance of the last Conservative government and turned the UK into an economic and financial disaster!

Gordon Brown’s welfare-to-work schemes have successfully created a ‘lost generation’ that will struggle to find employment.

the gap between rich and poor is wider after 14 years of Labour

Posted by michael on April 21, 2010

After 14 years of Brown and New Labour, the gap between rich and poor is wider than it has been since the days of slavery!!

Is this not an absolute condemnation of Gordon Brown and New Labour who appear to have been totally incapable of even narrowing the gap between rich and poor!

What does New Labour actually stand for if they cannot help the poorest in our society?

Or is it the word ‘new‘ in their name that indicates that Labour has changed and no longer has no interest in the poorest and more vulnerable members of our society?

Was there really a crisis with ash?

Posted by michael on April 20, 2010

The Icelandic volcano is still spewing out it’s dust yet the UK can now allow all the air flights to resume.

So what has changed? It doesn’t seem to be the weather. The volcano hasn’t changed. Has all this chaos been Health and Safety gone mad?

Where has Brown and our government been for the last six days?? They have allowed the flights to stay grounded, our citizens to be stranded in foreign countries, holidays to be spoilt, etc.

It would all seem to have been worthwhile except for the fact the the government are now simply allowing flights to resume as though there had never been a problem with ash!!!

Judging from what is happening now, I suspect that we did not need to cancel all our flights, we did not need to have UK citizens stranded around the world, we did not need the chaos that we have experienced.

New Labour has shown a lack of leadership and a failure to make decisions. They do not seem  bothered how many people have been disadvantaged! The country would do better with a more caring government!

the air travel crisis

Posted by michael on April 20, 2010

Where is the leadership of this government in such a time of crisis?

Oh yes, locked away working out how to deal with the live debate in order to retain power for themselves.  Surely this is a national emergency with serious ramifications for UK citizens and businesses throughout the UK.

Yet our government are putting their own interests before the country they are supposed to be serving!
