Prime Minister Blair said that war was necessary!

Posted by michael on January 27, 2010

A lot of people accepted that the war was necessary because the Prime Minister of the UK said that it was necessary.

They were being misled by Blair, Brown and New Labour but that dues not mean that they were wrong to put the safety of the citizens of the UK as their first priority!

I have a problem with the Lib Dems voting against a war which we were told was necessary for the security and safety of the people of the UK.

If Blair was telling the truth about the need for war then the Lib Dems were not putting the security of the UK as their first priority!

The fact that Blair, Brown and New Labour were misleading us about the importance of war to defend our country, does not detract from the fact that the Liberal Democrats chose not to take steps to protect the UK from being targeted by Iraq.

The recession is over. Long live the recession!

Posted by michael on January 26, 2010

The worst of the recession is not over.  Apart from the less than expected growth figure, which will probably adjusted in the next few weeks, there is very little else going for the UK economy!

But in my view it is the way that this lame government has chosen to focus almost entirely on the banking system that is going to prove to be the most damaging of Brown and Darling’s policies!

Apart from a couple of relatively sensible policies that a number of governments around the world adopted, there has been very little from New Labour to help anyone through the recession.

The scrappage scheme was welcome but limited. What a shame the scheme was not restricted to green, environmentally friendly cars to begin the process of cleaning up the environment!

But the real issue is with the banks. This New Labour government forced the banks to increase their capital levels. The consequence of this was that many businesses had their existing loans withdrawn or were refused the new loans and overdraft facilities required to keep their businesses and cash flow going.

How many small businesses were forced out of business by Brown and Darling’s focus on keeping the banking system going at the expense of the smaller businesses? How many of their employees lost their jobs as a result?

When these smaller UK manufacturers and suppliers go bust then the employees and the management are forced to depend on the benefits system. This increases the UK debt. Families are often unable to pay their mortgages or rent. How many families were unable to pay their mortgage and ended up being housed at the expense of UK tax payers?

How is the UK economy now expected to grow when so many of the businesses that were present before the recession have now stopped trading simply because the UK banks would not support them?

The people of the UK have been allowed to suffer whilst the government put most of the money and most of their efforts into protecting the banks.

When will our government allow the banks to start lending money, at reasonable rates, to small businesses to encourage them to expand. The same question applies to new start up businesses being given the funding and credit facilities that they require.

For Brown and Darling to increase the banks capital and reserves at the cost of many businesses and jobs is inexcusable. Apart from anything else banks do not vote in general elections, people do!

Do we now have enough people who can afford to set up new businesses? Even if people want to get new businesses going, the banks will most probably refuse to support them.

This useless government has failed to support businesses who need finance and loans to stay in business . We cannot expect much help from our greedy bankers!

Brown and Darling have made a real mess of the UK economy. This is why they do not deserve to be in government again!

What has New Labour done for the UK?

Posted by michael on January 25, 2010

The war in Iraq was a bad decision by blair and New Labour. It is quite clear that we should never have been involved in this war.

Blair talks about regime change. Yes, Iraq had an awful leader. But that was no justification for going to war against the people of Iraq!!

And why stop at Iraq?? There are plenty of other evil and unpleasant regimes around the world. Did blair intend to invade all of these countries as well? blair and new labour have messed up our country big time!

We now have to be on guard 24×7 against bombing and attacks on UK citizens around the world. This is the legacy of Blair, Brown and New Labour!

Brown has now been shown to have been fully involved in the decision to go to war.

Brown and New Labour do not deserve another term in government. They have done us all enough harm already!

Labour want the Middle England’ voters

Posted by michael on January 16, 2010

I would be amazed if any of the ‘Middle England’ voters who voted for blair would find anything of the attraction of blair in Brown!

  • I would guess that they are mostly feeling betrayed by the promises of New Labour that have so disastrously crashed in flames over the last 12 years or so.
  • New Labour do not deserve to get back into power for no other reason than conning the population and taking us to war – with consequences for all of us for years to come!
  • Then Brown chose to destroy the value of the pensions of the Middle England voters.
  • And we end the Labour period of power with a huge financial meltdown, with consequences for years to come!

I think that Middle England voters would have to be certifiable to choose a party with the record that Brown and New Labour have!

Governments MUST be elected

Posted by michael on January 10, 2010

I heard Brown yesterday say that he would stay as PM if he was re-elected. He seems to have forgotten that he was never elected as PM in the first place.

Brown is a very good example of the dangers and folly of allowing anyone positions of authority over a country without being elected by the people. If people get a chance to elect someone who turns out to be useless, then they have no one to blame but themselves. That is the way the system works.

But Brown was not elected.

That is the main reason, in my view, why people are so against New Labour now that Brown has taken the UK from an economy in a really good position (remember the Golden Inheritance of the last Conservative government?) and almost bankrupted the UK and leaving us with debts that will take twenty years of austerity to pay off!

Brown has messed up this country big-time! And he was not elected by the people, he was foisted on us by this Labour government. Both will take the blame for the mess that the economy and the country is in.

New Labour – treating the people without respect

Posted by michael on January 6, 2010

One of the worst things about this authoritarian government we have in the UK  is that they cannot bring in laws without emphasising the punishment factor for those who don’t obey.

Recycling organic waste should be something that most people will do, and most people will be pleased to do it.

Instead of a debate on the good reasons for doing this, we have all been ordered to do this , or else!!! This gets peoples backs up.

The natural response to being ordered to do this is to tell Brown where to go!!! New Labour are an elected government. Yet they treat the people as the unelected governments in China, North Korea and other dictatorships around the world do.
