New Labour – desperate for a class war ?

Posted by michael on December 29, 2009

Naturally Labour are desperate to show a class war with the Conservatives helping their rich friends and New Labour helping their poor, lower paid supporters.

The poor, lower paid have of course been the focus of the the last 12 years of New Labour in government?

Actually NO! Labour have failed to look after the lower paid. They have failed to support their union friends.

Living standards for the poor are worse now than 12 years ago.

Child poverty, despite the money spent on it, is as bad as it ever was.

Education standards are lower in state schools!

New Labour like their millionaire friends, to have (several) expensive houses, to be photographed with important people, to jump when the USA tells them to!

New Labour have no right to claim that they care for the poor. The traditional left-wing Labour MPs appear to have been sidelined!

Blair and Brown and many of their ministers would appear to be only interested in living the high life! Now the chickens are steadily coming home to roost and New Labour are beginning to understand that they have isolated themselves from almost all areas of society.

An example of Brown and Labour putting themselves before the country is the refusal of this government to stand down now and have an election.

The UK is in desperate straits. The finances are shot. The debts are huge and will take years to pay back. Public Services are being cut. Decisions are being taken by a government whose focus is on surviving the next six months.

How can that be good for the UK? We need decisive action and long term decision making. Whilst New Labour hang on to power looking for ways to survive, they are putting the interests of the UK after the interests of the country!

New Labour ‘marriage is a dirty word!’

Posted by michael on December 27, 2009

New Labour cannot admit publicly that marriage is the best lifestyle in which to bring up children.

Using ’stable parental relationships’ instead of the word ‘marriage’ shows how difficult it is for them to accept marriage as important.

They seem to think that accepting marriage between a male and a female would be denigrating any other form of relationship.

Perhaps it is the association of Christianity with marriage that sticks in their crawl!

I don’t think that Labour has changed it’s views! In my opinion this is just about presenting another face of New Labour.   The Conservatives champion marriage as important, therefore Labour are just trying to pretend that it is important tot hem as well!

Christmas 2009

Posted by michael on December 17, 2009

Christmas will probably be good for the retail trade. But it is just a one off event!

Most people are not spending much money, instead they are repaying debt and saving as much as they can.

Of course parents are going to buy Christmas presents for the kids but not for each other!

Many people are saving because of the risks of unemployment. They are also saving because the government have said that huge tax rises have yet to come, especially council tax and energy bills amongst others. People know that they need savings to stop them going into debt .

This Christmas is a testimony to the last 12 years of the New Labour government!

Brown and new helicopters for Afghanistan

Posted by michael on December 15, 2009

I despair at some of the actions of this government!

They have announced new helicopters for Afghanistan, which of course is good. But they won’t be available until 2013!!!

I thought that by then our soldiers had pulled out leaving the ‘well trained’ Afghan soldiers to protect themselves from the Taliban!!

So the helicopters won’t be available until AFTER our soldiers come home – OR does brown know that they are going to be there for many years yet!

Has brown now admitted that when he repeatedly and consistently said that our soldiers had enough equipment and helicopters (remember the NATO troops were sharing helicopters) that he was WRONG!

Yet now brown and his ministers are claiming credit for spending money on ’supporting’ our troops. It just seems so cynical. Perhaps there is an election due soon!

Blair – killing people for political reasons should have consequences!

Posted by michael on December 13, 2009

It seems that Blair was so keen to make himself important that he was prepared to take the UK to war in Iraq at any cost!

This cost was of course borne by other people – the taxpayers, the military, their family members and don’t forget the many thousands of innocent Iraqis who were killed or seriously injured.

Blair cannot justify this war by saying that he needed to free the Iraqis from savage leaders!! Why the Iraqis?

There are many nations with leaders who abuse and subjugate their people, some far worse than Saddam!

Was Blair really going to invade all these countries as well?

Or was it really down to oil and being a puppet of the USA?

I believe that Blair should be charged with war crimes. How many people and families has his actions harmed.

Killing people for political reasons should have consequences!

Can the UK help battle global warming?

Posted by michael on December 11, 2009

I am not sure how much we can help! We certainly cannot keep giving away the taxpayers money to other people. We are not rich enough to keep doing this.

I would suggest that Zambia is better placed financially to help fund the global warming activities!

Any money that Mr Brown pledges is adding to our debt levels. What right has Brown got to do this? He is making himself look important whilst putting us all deeper into debt.

I sometimes wonder if he really understands the mess that the UK is in. Or is he more like those people who get themselves deep in debt and cannot cope with the idea of failure and are really in denial of the whole situation.

Is Gordon Brown a hypocrite?

Posted by michael on December 7, 2009

The problem I have with Brown deciding that some public sector bosses are paid too much is that Brown is in charge of the public sector and has allowed these people to receive these high salaries.

It is completely hypocritical of Brown to decide after 12 years in power that these public sector bosses are paid too much!

I would put money on the fact that Brown would not say a word about these salaries if it was not for the fact that he is behind in the polls!

He is doing so many U turns that he must be continually dizzy!
